Houston Aquarium

Lots of things happening in Texas, some good, some not.  C has been feeling pretty good lately, his nausea is mostly gone and he's pretty determined that he should be crawling and walking soon.  The not so good is that he's back in for another round of chemo and H has had to stay away for the last week because she had a pretty nasty viral issue.

But today we got to celebrate a little bit since it was Grandma's birthday, we're pretty close to C's birthday as well, and also it was a nice day.  I can't say enough how appreciative we've been of the friends down here who have provided a place for the grandparents and H stay, even through the sickness.  We also had an unexpected bit of kindness on our visit to the Houston Aquarium, the manager heard about our situation and gave us 10 day passes for free!  We all had a blast!

Life at the Ronald McDonald house is interesting as always.  There are always new faces and interesting events and dinners, wish we could participate in more of the events, but we've definitely been making use of the charitable dinners.  Nothing like pictures to describe what the last week or so has been like.

Who knew C would like ambulance rides so much
Still recovering from a bug and already standing.
A brief afternoon of near normalcy.
Daddy helping C do some cooking.
Notice that he's pretty much freestanding here.

First attempt to get a family shot, at least we were looking ;)

Second try, C won't stop pointing at the fish.

H and C both enjoyed the carousel.

Happy b'day grandma!

C and H on the ferris wheel, they both loved looking out the sides.

C really, really liked the ferris wheel (really!!).
It's not just us that have trouble getting everyone to look.
Nice kitty!
H striking a pose for the fish.

  1. I can imagine Santiago saying "be careful" to Hart when she was next to tiger lol
Is so good to hear that everything is going ok, and Casey is doing good, big hugs, and here is hoping that H is feeling better soon. Take care.

  2. It's been a great privilege to be apart of all of your lives. This day was very memorable for us as well. Casey does have quite a personality and it's remarkable to see him oblivious to his situation. He seems to enjoy life very much and his testimony has ministered to us very much. The preciousness of life is seen through his determination to express himself. Casey just couldn't have any ordinary parents either. I'm blessed as well to see your continued non stop love and compassion towards your boy and Hartley. I have no idea what it would be like to be in your shoes, but you all seem to wear them quite well. I'm so proud of you all and am honored to be a friend of yours. We hope to lift you all up in prayers often. Thank you so much for inviting us and allowing us to see a glimpse of what a joy it is to be parents of Casey.
